Because there are many women and couples with fertility problems who have been struggling for many years to have a child. Egg donation is a simple process, and with this gesture of solidarity and altruism you can help them to fulfil their dream of becoming mothers.
What requirements do I have to meet for egg donation?
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Be healthy.
- Do not suffer from obesity.
- Not have serious hereditary diseases.
- Not be a carrier of sexually transmitted diseases.

IS MY DATA GUARANTEED TO BE CONFIDENTIAL?
YES. NOVA FIV ensures the anonymity of donors and recipients at all times.
WILL I RECEIVE FINANCIAL COMPENSATION FOR DONATING EGGS?
YES. As indicated in Law 14/2006 on Assisted Human Reproduction, egg donation is a voluntary, anonymous and altruistic act, although if you donate you will be financially compensated for the treatment you will undergo and for any transport and labour costs that may be incurred.
This compensation is set by the Ministry of Health, following the indications of the National Commission for Assisted Human Reproduction.
CAN I KNOW THE DESTINATION OF MY EGGS?
NO. Egg donation is always anonymous. Neither the donor can know the destination of her eggs nor the recipient the origin.
WHAT TESTS WILL THEY DO TO ME?
As an egg donor, you will undergo a medical examination to determine your state of health and whether you can donate. The tests are:
- Informative consultation to explain the donation process and resolve any doubts.
- Gynecological examination and cytology.
- Blood test.
- Psychological interview.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I DONATE?
The number of donations depends on the number of children born from the same donor, which cannot exceed six (including the donor’s own children), as indicated in the current Assisted Human Reproduction Law in our country.
HOW IS EGG DONATION LEGALLY REGULATED?
Assisted human reproduction and egg donation in Spain are mainly regulated by:
- Law 14/2006. Regulates the legal framework for the application of the egg donation technique and the requirements for the use of gametes and embryos.
- Royal Decree 412/1996. Establishing the compulsory protocols for the study of donors and users related to assisted reproduction techniques, and regulating the creation of the National Registry of Gametes and Pre-embryos.
- Royal Decree 9/2014. Establishing the quality and safety standards for the donation of human cells and tissues, and approving the rules of coordination and operation for their use in humans.
- Royal Decree 318/2016. Regulating the authorisation procedure for carrying out activities to promote and advertise the donation of human tissues and cells.
